Construction of the church and the establishment of the parish are slight rear opening of the road Modenese. Entitled by the Bishop Scipio de 'Ricci in San Leopoldo, as a tribute to the Grand Duke of Tuscany, the church was opened for worship in 1784. The Bishop had entrusted the project to the Florentine Bernardo Fallani, who built a church of great simplicity, according to the address of the customer, close, as you know, the ideas of reform Jansenist.
